Recommendations

  1. The Peak - touristy but cute.
If youre up for a small hike theres an amazing view a little further from the tram here:MT High West Viewing Point https://maps.app.goo.gl/xytCQaCdsbkxiUzC7
  2. Take the Star Ferry across the harbour
  3. Sham Shui Po has all the main markets and famous area for food
  4. Lantau Island and Giant Buddha is fun
Factor in some time to go to the fishing village nearby, that was a highlight for us
Buddha can be VERY crowded, we waited so long for the cable car. It is possible to take a bus but comes at limited times
  5. Get Hong Kong egg tarts, they are yum with a biscuit base
We like Tai Cheong Bakery but there’s probably better options now

  6. Go to Marks and spencer so you can get the famous white choc chip cookies FROM THE FRESH BAKERY SECTION ONLY!!! NOT PREPACKAGED
  7. Central mid-levels escalators are quite cool, longest outdoor escalator system
Takes you through a cool and steep neighbourhood
  8. HK museum of history WAS good but i think it wouldve changed now lol
  9. I’ve not been, but kowloon walled city is interesting
  10. Go to some of the islands - theyre wonderful for hiking, some of the most beautiful nature ive seen
  11. Jordan Road at night for all the neon signs you’ll possibly want
  12. Ride the double decker trams and buses
  13. Man Mo Temple is a beautiful inner city temple
  14. Walk around all the inner city parks, especially on HK island - theyre quite cute
  15. The minibuses drive so fast and you can stop anywhere, just call out the name of a business
  16. Causeway bay is like the bourke st/times square of HK imo
I wouldnt recommend it that much, its not that exciting, but its an ok central point... my family lives in happy valley and we only went there cos it was the closest station
  17. Stanley beach is cute, its a bit bougie now than when i first went, but its peaceful and a nice little half day/ quarter day trip if you want somehting different
The bus ride there is pretty
