What's your perspective on living well in your 90s?

I’ve got the body of a 93-year-old but the mind of an 18-year-old! I think I’m doing pretty well - look at all the medications I handle myself, I can still drive, and I’m the queen of Rains Park Court! I’ve got enough money now to buy a dozen cream puffs if I wanted to - quite different from the old days when I had to choose between cream puffs and a loaf of bread and pint of milk. I’m treated like royalty here - they’ve dropped everything to help me in this room, the best room in the place. And now especially as old Albanese’s paying for it - I contributed with my taxes over the years, 32 years with Australia Post and working in the factories.

I enjoy life differently now. I prefer my little groups rather than the big parties I used to have. I can speak better when I’ve only got two or three people - my little brunch group, going out with Kevin and Brian, just the little lunches. They pick me up and take me down to Sandy Pub. I’m happier with that now, rather than the big parties where I’d be working my guts out in the kitchen and never getting to properly talk to anyone.
