Do you have any regrets?

You know, my life has constantly changed, and I’ve done so many things. Some I liked, some I didn’t succeed as well at. But at this time of life, I think well, it couldn’t have mattered all that much because it hasn’t really affected my life or made it easier or more difficult. I think if I’d led a boring, dull life, I probably would have looked back with a lot of regrets. But because of the life I’ve led, I haven’t got that feeling. The pluses have outweighed the minuses.

I started my life over at 35 when most people were just starting their families. After raising my children, I wanted to spread my wings and get out of the kitchen. I discovered life in the hotels, playing music. People liked my music and wanted to listen and sing along. I was lucky to experience this life - working hard and playing hard. My teenage boys used to pop in and out of the hotels I was playing in to see what Mother was doing. Many of my friends never did anything like that because they stayed with the same husband or sacrificed their lives for somebody else.
