Overall tips for writing emails!
- Keep them super short and sharp
- Write it as a draft, then come back to it in 30 min. Check it sounds calm, confident and professional
- It's just work! They aren't your friends, and it's not a dire situation
- Don't make excuses
- Don't say "sorry" or "apologies"
- Don't say "just" eg. "just checking"
- Don't say "maybe"
- Being polite & firm sets boundaries from the start
- If something feels like it's pushing your boundaries in even a small way, say no. People really won't take it personally, whereas we tend to when we shouldnt
- The client is not interested in anything except what they’re getting. Softening the blow for yourself isnt important
